Fine silks wet with tears. Dreams won't come. Late at night, within the halls, faint song is sung. Lovely face is far from old when favor is withdrawn. Reclining in a gilded cage and waiting for the dawn. |

I don't know when Bai Juyi wrote this. It reminds me of Song of Long Regret and could have been written around the same time. But who knows?
