At home in Jing'an there are willows out the window. Outside this station, flowers cover the ground. Spring blossoms in both places as the same sun sets. Family thinks of the traveller just as he thinks of home. |

This poem, like 邯郸冬至夜思家 - At Handan, Winter Solstice Night, Thinking of Home, was written in 809. So with an office job that has no travel component, Bai is on the road winter and spring. He just isn't travelling very far in either case. Officials had to get special permission to travel outside the venue of their work. So sick leave or family business are Bai's only options for getting away from work.
