Ten Poems of Leaving: Swallow Leaves Nest
In and out their vermillion gates, I've been allowed to stay.
The owners seem to love my joyful singing.
But filling my mouth with filthy mud to build my coral pillow,
In these rafters, I can't stand to build one again.
Swallows, in China at least, can be seen picking up mud in their beaks to build elaborate nests with.
