Poems of Xue Tao
Ten Poems of Leaving: Brush Leaves Hand
Made of the finest of hairs, you called me favorite
and on your pink stationery, I dropped precious flowers.
Now, after long use, you have worn out my hair
and won't let me breath by picking me up.
Another possibility is that these were exercises Xue Tao had to do in order to learn more about poetry and "leaving poems" when she entered the courtesan's guild in Chengdu. This one uses some fairly rare characters and could have been used to increase a student's vocabulary.
