续嘉陵驿诗献武相国

Replying to the Poem in Jialing Station by the Minister of War

蜀门西更上青天
强为公歌蜀国弦
卓氏长卿称士女
锦江玉垒献山川

Sichuan's western gates ascend into the heavens and
All of Sichuan's strings loudly echo the Duke's song.
We praise your Zhou clan's offspring, long ennobled,
As Chengdu's jade ramparts look down on hills and plains.

废话

This is probably a work poem from Xue Tao's Xichuan district years. Some big muckety-muck inscribes a poem on the Jialing post station as he leaves and Xue Tao replies with an appropriate, and similarly boring, response poem. It would be hard for her to fit less poetry into this poem. Even before Xichuan, Xue Tao could do better than this. If the muckety-muck had actually been literate, she would have done a better job.
