Unpleasant Peace after Meeting with a High Minister
惊看天地白荒荒 瞥见青山旧夕阳 始信大威能照映 由来日月借生光 |
Startled to see Heaven and Earth a white desolation, I glimpsed blue mountains, ancient in the sunset. I used to think great power could illuminate us But true life and livelihood come from borrowed light. |

废话
Xue Tao's later life, after taking Daoist orders, comes to us with few details. And no one becomes a Daoist overnight. This poem is probably from her time with Wei Gao. Another poem suggests the mountains are visible from his home. There is a power in this poem which makes the great minister anonymous.
